Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw still critical

Wellington, Tamil Nadu, Jun 26 (UNI) The condition of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, undergoing treatment at the Military Hospital here, continues to be critical.

A bulletin issued by Major General E J Kochakkal, General Officer commanding Madras Regimental Centre headquarters, Chennai, in the evening said, ''The medical condition of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw continues to be serious. His vital parameters remain unchanged.'' His condition was being constantly monitored by the medical staff, he added.

The Field Marshal had developed Acute Bronchopneumonia with associated complications and his condition has been serious for the past four days.

He was being treated at the Intensive Care Unit by doctors of the military hospital, assisted by a Pulmonologist from Army Hospital (R and R), New Delhi.
