DGAR on maiden visit to Nagaland
Kohima, Jun 26: Director General of Assam Rifles (DGAR) Lt Gen K S Yadav, accompanied by his wife Meenakshi Yadav, the president of Assam Rifles Women Welfare Association, arrived here on a three-day maiden visit to Nagaland.
Official sources said here today that on arrival of Lt Gen Yadav at the Kohima Assam Rifles helipad yesterday, after assuming the office of the DGAR recently, Maj Gen Jai Prakash Nehra, Inspector General of Assam Rifles (North), received him and later briefed him about the prevailing situation in the state, the operational preparedness of Assam Rifles and the assistance being provided to the people.
The DGAR also met Nagaland Governor K Sankaranarayanan at Raj Bhavan.
Lt Gen Yadav will meet Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio today.
He will also visit the Kohima War Cemetery, Kohima Orphanage and the Heritage Village at Kisama.
The DGAR will visit Tuensang and Longwa tomorrow, from where he will leave for Shillong, the sources said.
