Blind lion dies in Junagadh zoo

Junagadh, Jun 26 (UNI) A nine-year-old blind lion died here in the Sakkarbag Zoo.

The lion had fallen into a well eight years ago and had received serious head injuries and as a result had lost his vision along with brain damage.

Dr C N Bhuva, veterinary surgeon at the zoo, said, ''The lion was brought to Sakkarbag Zoo for treatment and was under medical supervision since then. Yesterday the lion died after prolonged illness.'' UNI HT MAZ SZ CS1659
