Bank of India CMD T S Narayanswami elected IBA Chairman
Mumbai, Jun 26 (UNI) T S Narayanswami, chairman and managing director of the Bank of India, has been elected as Chairman of the Indian Bankers Association (IBA), at their managing committee meeting here today.
Mr Narayanswami has taken over as the IBA chairman for 2008-09, from Mr M B N Rao, chairman and managing director of Canara Bank, who is superannuating this month end, according to a release issued by the IBA.
Mr P K Gupta, CMD United Bank of India, Dr K C Chakrabarty, CMD Punjab National Bank and Mr Aditya Puri, MD HDFC Bank Limited, have been elected as deputy chairmen and Mr V J Carneiro, general manager and chief executive officer, Citizencredit co-operative bank as Honorary secretary of the association, the release added.
