72-yr-old farmer commits suicide in K'taka

Mysore, Jun 26 (UNI) Unable to repay the mounting debts, a 72-year-old farmer of Hadajanahalli in K R Nagara taluk of this district committed suicide by jumping into a tank near the village today.

Revenue department officials said the farmer, identified as Puttanaje Gowda, owned a small piece of land and taken loans from Cooperative bank and private money lenders.

The body had been fished out from tank and sent for post mortem.
