54 Haryana schools chosen for hygiene programme

Chandigarh, Jun 26 (UNI) In order to educate the school children about health, hygiene and sanitation, 54 government schools have been taken up for running school health and hygiene programme under the second phase of Yamuna Action Plan in Gurgaon district.

The programme was being implemented by The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) with support from the Japan Bank for International Cooperation and Water Services and Sanitation Department, Haryana, Superintending Engineer of Water Services Department B S Singroha said today.

He said that the water services department was taking help of TERI in encouraging the general public to adopt better health, hygiene and sanitation practices by educating the school children.

The school health programme was being implemented in three districts namely Gurgaon, Sonepat and Panipat.
