Two more succumb to monsoon-related diseases
Mumbai, Jun 25 (UNI) A 34-year-old man, suffering from dreaded leptospirosis and admitted in a city's private nursing hospital, was among the two patients, who succumbed to rain-related diseases in the city during the last 24 hours ending today morning since the onset of monsoon, taking the toll to 14.
According to civic officials, the man, whose identity is yet to be ascertained, was admitted in Sanjivani Hospital on June 23. He died due to leptospirosis yesterday. While a 20-year-old youth was admitted in the civic-run Nair Hospital on June 23 with high fever caused due to malaria. He too died yesterday.
The officials added that they have taken many steps to curb the spread of monsoon-related diseases and have started fogging in many areas.
