TN CM condoles death of Banatwala
Chennai, Jun 25 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK President M Karunanidhi today condoled the death of IUML National President and Lok Sabha MP Gulam Mehmood Banatwala, who passed away in Mumbai today.
In his message, he described Banatwala as an able parliamentarian and a long friend of the DMK.
''He always showers affection on me,'' Mr Karunanidhi said, adding that he was shocked by the sudden demise of the IUML leader.
The speech made by Banatwala at the IUML conference in the city four days back, hailing the performance of the DMK government, was still fresh in his minds, he said.
It was an irreparable loss, the Chief Minister said and expressed his heartfelt condolences to the family members.
IUML state president K M Kader Mohideen also condoled the death of Banatwala and said it was big loss to the country and society.
