Three held for killing advocate in Kanpur

Kanpur, Jun 25 (UNI) Police today claimed to have nabbed three criminals after a brief encounter in Babu Purwa area here.

Acting on a tip-off, a joint team of police and Special Operation Group (SOG) cordoned off the area and nabbed Banne Khan, Riswan and Kallo near Central Ordinance Depot (COD) for their alleged involvement in a city advocate's murder this month.

On June 3, advocate R C Bajpai was found dead at his residence in this industrial city.

According to SOG in charge Rishi Kant Shukla, the criminals broke into the advocate's house to commit loot and killed Mr Bajpai after he raised alarm.

Later, the criminals decamped with valuables.

Police have recovered the looted material, including Mr Bajpai's three mobile phones, besides, seizing two pistols from them.

Further investigation was in progress.
