Shiv Sena champions farmers' cause in Nagpur
{image-shiv sena_25062008.jpg news.oneindia.in}Nagpur, June 25 : Shiv Sena activists staged a protest march here on June 25th against the Maharashtra Government's failure to provide seeds and fertilizers to farmers in the state.
Windowpanes and several vehicles were damaged during the protest. Prakash Yadav, a Shiv Sena activist, claimed that the black marketing of fertilizers is rampant and banks were not providing the farmers' with loans required for purchasing the fertilizers ahead of the planting of the Kharif or summer crop.
The state is reportedly facing a 60 per cent shortage in fertilizers.
