SFI activists attack mediapersons, Manorama office
Kottayam, June 25 (UNI) Four persons, including a reporter and a cameraman of 'Manorama Vision' channel, today sustained injuries in an attack by pro-Marxist Students Federation of India (SFI) activists, who were returning after staging a demonstration in front of the Collectorate to counter the agitation by the Congress on the textbook issue.
Police said the injured, including the correspondent Pradeesh Joseph, were admitted to the Medical College Hospital here.
The SFI activists also pelted stones at the 'Malayala Manorama' office, damaging its windowpanes.
The Congress and its feeder organisations were on an agitation, demanding the withdrawl of the social science textbook of seventh standard, alleging that it contained anti-religious and pro-Communist materials.
