Self-proclaimed area commander of Maoists arrested in Bihar
Sheohar, Jun 25 (UNI) In a major breakthrough, police arrested a self -proclaimed area commander of Maoists Devendra Sahni alias Ratnakar from a Naxalite hideout at Lakshminiya village under Shyampur Bhatha police station here late last night.
Police Superintendent Ajay Kumar Mishra said here today that the extremist was arrested during a raid conducted on a tip off.
He said the accomplices of the arrested extremist managed to escape taking advantage of the darkness.
The arrested extremist, wanted by police in connection with several criminal cases, was sent to Sitamarhi under judicial custody after priliminary interrogation.
