Rs 8.42 lakh seized from clerk
Dewas, MP, June 25 (UNI) A clerk in the district registration office was found in the possession of Rs 8.42 lakh when Collector Navneet Kothari made a sudden inspection to the office this evening, official sources said today.
The Collector found that clerk Shyamsharan Shukla's was still open at 1730 hours. He found Rs 23,000 on his table. Later, Rs 8.19 lakh was found from a bag over there. No account of the money was found.
The Collector deposited the whole amount in the district treasury. An inquiry has been ordered into the incident. The clerk was suspended.
