Ranchi Varsity officers demand inclusion in 6th UGC pay scale
Patna, Jun 25 (UNI) The Ranchi University today submitted a memorandum to sixth pay review committee of University Grant Commission(UGC) protesting the discard of posts of university officers from terms and reference of the review committee.
Joint secretary of the Ranchi University Officers Association and Assistant Registrar of the University Dr G P Singh said the UGC sixth pay review committee had not taken Registrar, Controller of Examination, Finance Officer, Assistant Registrar, Assistant Controller and Assistant Finance Officers.
He said the officers' pay scales were included in UGC fifth pay scale along with the teachers and they were also getting the UGC scale from 1996.
''It is distressing to note that UGC sixth pay review committee has not taken posts of Registrar, Controller of Examination, Finance Officer, Assistant Registrar, Assistant Controller and Assistant Finance Officers into its terms and reference,'' Mr Singh said and demanded that posts of all such officers should be incorporated in the UGC sixth pay scale.
Mr Singh said all such officers needed to be allowed a fast track promotion mechanism wherein the bright officers would be eligible to get promoted faster irrespective of their seniority.
The Joint Secretary favoured the inclusion of posts of DSW, CCDC and Proctor in the UGC pay scale as ''these were the back bone for the university administration,'' he said.
