Police detain four for girl murder
Shillong, Jun 25 (UNI) Meghalaya police today said they were close to solving the Dari Wahlang murder case after receiving her post-mortem report and interrogating four people connected with the case.
According to the post-mortem report, the girl died of ''shock, hemorrhage and asphyxiation'' following injuries to the head and strangulation.
Dari Wahlang from Cherrapunjee, aged between 18 to 25 years, was found murdered in Mawlai, Iewrynghep on June 12. It was only after her burial by a social organisation here as an unclaimed body that the police established her identity.
Dari was in the Shillong Civil hospital morgue for a week and was later buried after the district administration gave permission following bloating of the body.
Later an alleged pimp Marcus Dohling identified the victim.
East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police A R Mawthoh said police was closing in to the killer(s) of Dari after interrogating four detained people.
Incidentally, Mr Mawthoh said none from Dari's family had contacted police.
