PMC seeks CM's resignation on L
Puducherry, Jun 25 (UNI) Puducherry Munntera Congress (PMC) Founder- Leader P Kannan today demanded the resignation of Chief Minister N Rangasamy, holding the Home portfolio, owning moral responsibility for the deterioration in law and order situation in the Union Territory.
Addressing the press here, Mr Kannan warned of 'more murders' here if the government failed to curb unlawful activites with an 'iron hand' Never before in Puducherry's history has the law and order been so worse, he said, adding even the Chief Secretary was given tight security.
Alleging that the Congress was not concerned with the issue, Mr Kannan said Union Minister of State for Planning and Parliamentarty Affairs V Narayansamy, who charged that the police here were functioning in a slackened manner,was himself a member of the Congress Working Committee and could take action at the party level.
On the political situation here,Mr Kannan said the Congress had problems and it was its internal affair. The PMC had no role in it.
He said the state committee of the party, dissolved recently, was reconstituted as state-level steering committee.
