Pals fear Mariah's marriage 'won't last more than six months'

Melbourne, June 25 : Mariah Carey's friends fear the pop star's marriage to Nick Cannon will not last longer than six months.

The couple tied the knot in a secret ceremony in the Caribbean in April, after a whirlwind romance, but friends close to Carey believe that Cannon will not be able to cope with his wife's diva demands.

According to a pal, Cannon has become a source of ridicule for Carey's friends and associates.

"I give the marriage six months, tops. I can't see it lasting," The Age.com.au quoted the pal, as saying.

"Nick does whatever Mariah wants him to - he's like her puppy. It seems like he spends more time in the stores with Mariah's credit card than he does with Mariah herself.

"Mariah's assistants and friends call him 'Whipped Nick' behind his back.hey have little respect for him because he won't stand up for himself," the pal added.

However, one of Cannon's friends has vehemently denied the relationship is on the rocks, insisting they are perfect for each other.

"Mariah needs someone to dote on her," the pal said.
