Palam Silk Sarees opens showroom in Chennai

Chennai, Jun 25: Cashing in on the present trend of increase in the purchasing power of people, Sri Palam Silk sarees today opened its expanded showroom at Pondy Bazaar, the city's commercial hub.

The new 2000 sq ft exclusive designer silk sarees showroom was opened by noted carnatic singer Ms Nithyashree Mahadeven in the presence of Nalli Kuppuswami Chetty, owner of a leading textile showroom.

Ms Nithyashree said Palam Silk Sarees has collections with a heady mix of modernity and tradition to suit the current times and trends.

''Even in today's rushed times, carnatic music is enjoyed world over for its ability to relax completely and soothe the most frayed nerves. Tamil Nadu has contemporary housewives with traditional outlook and practices and seek to be attired suitably for traditional functions. This has been addressed by Palam Silk Sarees,'' she added.

The shop has trendy designer sarees, crepes chiffons, georgettes, printed silk, silk cottons and cotton sarees and salwar materials for all classes (lower, middle and upper class) apart from top of the line pure Kancheepuram wedding silks upto the rate of Rs 40,000.
