ONGC Q4 net dips by 2% at Rs 2,627.10 cr

New Delhi, Jun 25 (UNI) State-run upstream major Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd (ONGC) today said its net profit dipped two per cent to Rs 2,627.10 crore for the quarter ended March 2008 as compared to Rs 2,681.64 crore in the corresponding period previous year.

The total income, however, surged 21.1 per cent to Rs 17,659.78 crore for the quarter ended March 2008 from Rs 14,575.92 crore as compared to the same period last year, the company said in a statement.

The company's net profit increased 6.7 per cent to Rs 16,701.65 crore for the year ended March 31, 2008 as compared to Rs 15,642.92 crore during last fiscal.

The total income for FY08 also went up 6.5 per cent to Rs 64,859.18 crore from Rs 60,875.91 crore in FY07.

The Group's net profit surged 11.8 per cent to Rs 19,872.26 crore for the year ended March 31, 2008 as compared to Rs 17,769.60 crore in the corresponding period previous year.

The total income witnessed a hike of 16.4 per cent to Rs 1,01,336.49 crore for the year ended March 31, 2008 from Rs 87,005.62 crore for the year ended March 31, 2007.

The company also recommended final dividend of 140 per cent, that is Rs 14 per share, over and above 180 per cent (Rs 18 per share), already paid as interim dividend in December last year for the FY08, subject to the approval by the shareholders.
