One killed, 13 injured in roof collapse in Punjab

Bathinda, June 25 (UNI) A labourer was killed and 13 others were injured when the roof of a building under construction collapsed on Bathinda-Dabwali road here today, police reports said.

According to the police, the roof came down on the labourers who were engaged in the construction work. Fourteen labourers were buried under the debris.

Rescue operations were immediately launched and the buried labourers were pulled out and rushed to the civil hospital. While one of the labourers, identified as Patel died, the rest are convalsing in hospital.

The police is likely to register a case against the builder after investigating the matter.
