Nagaland forms panel on rising oil prices
Kohima Jun 25 (UNI) The Nagaland government has formed a committee to guage the impact of rising oil prices in the state, in line with a decision taken in Nagaland cabinet meeting.
The panel, headed by state principal secretary and finance commissioner, will include commissioners and secretaries of various departments like transport, urban development, roads, bridges as well as power.
The chief engineers of power, road and bridges, commissioner of taxes, chief town planner, chairman of Kohima Municipal Council and secretary of finance will also be the members.
The committee will study the impact of fuel price, announced by the Centre June 4, on the state's economy and come out with suitable measures for its absorption.
It may include adoption of austere measures on government spending and monitoring of expenditure by government departments.
The panel is expected to submit its report within one-month time from the date of issue of the notification, sources said.
