Mizoram to protest HC order
Aizawl, Jun 25(UNI) A protest day will be observed in Mizoram tomorrow against Gauhati High Court's recent order preventing the state from arresting and deporting any Indian national under the Inner Line Permit (or Bengal Eastern Frontier Regulation 1873).
It was agreed at an all-party meeting attended by the state's NGOs and churches that the Central Young Mizo Association (CYMA) would spearhead the protest day, purported to be a ''total bandh'', sources said.
The CYMA had appealed to the people to join tomorrow's 'bandh'. It also requested the people to put black flags over their houses.
Similarly, all educational and financial institutions, offices, shops and private business establishments were urged to stay off from their works.
