Lifer for 3 for killing pregnant woman

Chhindwara (MP), Jun 25 (UNI) A local court has awarded life imprisonment to a woman's husband, mother-in-law and father-in-law for killing her for refusing to undergo abortion.

According to the prosecution, the accused had asked Jalso Bai of Banutola village under Amkhada block in this district to undergo abortion, but she refused resulting in a family dispute.

The accused-Vishram Lodhi, Shambhu Lodhi and Ishwari Bai- had then beaten to death the pregnant woman on January 29, 2007 and hanged the body to show it as a case of suicide.

District and Sessions Judge H U Ahmed yesterday pronounced the verdict and also slapped a fine of Rs 10,000 on them.
