K'taka Assembly adjourned sine die
Bangalore, June 25 (UNI) The Karnataka Legislative Assembly was today adjourned sine die, amidst noisy scenes and dharna by the Opposition Congress members, demanding setting up of a Joint House Committee to go into the shortage of fertilisers and suicide by farmers in the State.
As soon as the House re-assembled after lunch, Congress members continued their dharna, even as the motion of thanks to the Governor for his address was moved and seconded by Treasury bench members.
Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa gave a five-minute reply to the motion and the House unanimously adopted it by voice vote, amidst shouting of slogans by the Congress members.
Speaker Jagdish Shettar then adjourned the House sine die.
