Govt considering to raise bus fares

Thiruvananthapuram, Jun 25: The Kerala Government is seriously considering to hike the bus fares, Transport Minister Mathew T Thomas told the State Assembly today.

The government was considering to increase the bus fares as Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) and the private bus operators were demanding that the government revise the fares in view of steep hike in prices of diesel, tyre and other lubricants, he said.

However, the government had not taken any decision on their other demands, including revision of students concession and renewal of bus routes, he added.
