Human Rights Commission terms Lakhimpur Kheri encounter ''fake''
Lucknow, Jun 25 (UNI) Considering a dalit's encounter in Lakhimpur Kheri district of Uttar Pradesh as ''fake,'' the National Human Rights Commission today gave notice to the state government.
In its directions to senior police officials of the state, the commission sought a probe report along with the post-mortem examination report into the ''encounter,'' sources said.
Besides, the commission ordered a magesterial probe into the matter.
In April, Pasi Lal -- a man having no criminal record -- was shown shot dead during a police encounter in Lakhimpur Kheri district.
