Edible oils, key seeds dip

Mumbai, June 25 (UNI) Spot prices of edible oil, including that of groundnut raw, palmolein, soyabean, sunflower, along with groundnutseed, kardiseed and castorseed today witnessed a downward trend on poor demand by bulk consumers and retailers, in view of good rainfall at producing centres like Gujarat and some southern regions, traders at the Bombay Commodity Exchange said.

In oil segment (per ten kgs), groundnut oil, refined palm, cotton ref, rapessed expeller and karanji dropped by Rs five, on renewed heavy offloading by stockists and thin demand by local dealers. However copra white, linseed and sesame expeller varieties rose by Rs ten, Rs five and Rs 20 respectively, on sustained good buying support by stockists.

Among seeds (per quintal) javas, kardi and castorseed Disa grades declined by Rs 50 each, while groundnutseed kernel declined by Rs 25, on larger stocks arrivals from producing centres.

In De-oiled cakes (per tonnes), undec cotton grade crashed by Rs 200 to Rs 10,300, on poor demand, mainly from exporters, traders added.
