CII for regulated industrial activity in coastal zones

Mumbai, June 25 (UNI) The Environment Policy Division of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) today said there was a need to regulate certain industrial and developmental activities in coastal areas.

Speaking at an interactive workshop here today, division head K P Nyati said clarity was required on a number of terms like ''coastal zone'', ''adjacent'', ''biological boundaries'', ''culturally sensitive areas'' and others being used in the CMZ Notification, which have huge scope for interpretation.
