Baramati Agro launches eggs with OVN label

Pune, June 25 (UNI) Baramati Agro today launched enriched eggs with the Optimum Value Nutrition (OVN) label to provide better quality eggs.

Speaking to reporters Rohit Pawar from Baramati Agro said the eggs were developed and tested since the past one year. ''The OVN label allows you to make better food choices of animal origin, whether eggs, meat or milk, as there are 13 known essential vitamins supplemented in the diet of the poultry''.

To a query about the expected turn over, Pawar said that initially around 5,000 to 4,000 eggs will be supplied to the stores daily and the capacity can be enhanced to 80,000 eggs daily.

''However, what we need is to educate people about the quality of the eggs,'' he said.

This is for the first time that a company in the food supply chain is using the OVN label.
