Assam journalist selected for Berlin scholarship
Guwahati, June 25 (UNI) Young journalist Amarjyoti Borah from Assam has been selected for a scholarship for a two-month training program on 'Environmental Reporting' in Berlin, Germany, beginning from July.
The program will focus on various common and urgent environment- related issues which will include sustainable utilization of natural resources, protection of water and soil, and various other major environmental issues emerging as a threat towards the survival on earth.
The training program and the scholarship had been provided by the International Institute of Journalism (IIJ).
Borah was among the 15 journalists from Asia, Europe and Africa selected for this prestigious program.
He was adjudged the Youth Environmental Journalist (Print) of the Year by the Forum of Environmental Journalist in India (FEJI) in New Delhi last year.
Amarjyoti had been reporting for 'Down to Earth', an Environment and Science Journal, and has covered many major issues of the North East.
