Amarnath Yatra suspended due to heavy rush
Jammu, Jun 25: The ongoing pilgrimage to Shri Amarnath cave shrine was suspended for the second consecutive day today to control the heavy rush of devotees thronging the cave in South Kashmir, officials here said.
"Following huge rush of pilgrims at base camps in Pahalgam and Baltal, the devotees were not allowed to proceed from the base camp at Bhagwati Nagar here," official sources told to media. However, pilgrims were allowed to proceed to the cave shrine from Pahalgam, they said. Earlier, the yatra was suspended from here on June 20 due to bad weather across the Valley. The two-month long yatra was flagged off from the winter capital of Jammu and Kashmir on June 17.
