Bihar: Ranvir Sena threatened BDO of Kaler block

Jehanabad, Jun 25: An outlawed outfit, Ranvir Sena, has threatened to kill the Block Development Officer (BDO) of Kaler block in Arwal district, even as a shadow of mystery loomed over the killing of the Ariyari BDO in Sheikhpura district on Sunday.

The threat, issued on the letter head of the Arwal-Paliganj-Jehanabad Area Committee of Ranvir Sena and signed by its ''Area Commander'' Sanjay Pandey, accused Krishan Mohan Ram of being biased against the upper castes and harassing them. ''He will be eliminated if he continues to ride roughshod over the sentiments of the upper castes,'' the threat said.

When contacted, Mr Ram, who was apparently shaken over the threat, said here today he had apprised the Senior District officials of the development and had asked for adequate security.

Arwal SP Gopal Singh Bhandoria said the matter was being investigated and if the threat perception was found to be real, security will be provided to the BDO.
