38 lakh saplings to be planted in Pratapgarh

Pratapgarh, Jun 25: To maintain greenery and control pollution, as many as 38 lakh saplings will be planted during the current fiscal year in this district of Uttar Pradesh.

According to official sources, a target of over seven lakh tree plantation on 458 hectare land area has been kept under the Social Forestry Scheme, while the remaining figure would be met by 13 departments, comprising rural development and animal husbandry.

District Magistrate Sainthil Pandiyan has also passed directions for timely completion of the target by utilisation of unused and fallow land.
