2 patients molested, relatives ransack hospital

Mumbai, Jun 25: Relatives of two female patients ransacked the Masina Hospital at Byculla in south-central Mumbai after a doctor and a ward boy allegedly molested the patients.

The victims, who were two sisters were admitted to the hospital during the wee hours of Tuesday with to burn injuries, while bursting crackers, police said here today. They were taken to the operation theatre under the pretext of dressing, where Ramesh Badrilal Chavan (40) and Dr Bhanu allegedly molested them, police said. The two sisters explained the incident to their relatives.

Furious over this, they ransacked the furniture and gate of the hospital at around 2300 hrs.

Chavan was arrested, while Dr Bhanu is absconding, police added.

However, a case of molestation has been registered against the accused.
