Union Minister to meet YSR on Kakinada Refinery

Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, Jun 24 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Defence M M Pallam Raju today said he would meet Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy in Hyderabad tomorrow to press him for the early materialisation of the proposed petroleum refinery in the Kakinada Special Economic Zone.

Speaking to newspersons here, he said people were very much agitated over the delay in setting up the refinery after acquiring their lands.

''The people are restive and pressing very much for the refinery.

I am also concurring with their opinion that early materialisation of the refinery will alone clear the misunderstanding on the Government's move,'' he said.

If the project did not take off, it was nothing but meting out injustice to the people as they have high hopes of getting employment for their children, the Minister remarked.
