Sinha envisions great future for J

Srinagar, Jun 24 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Governor Lt Gen (retd) S K Sinha has wished peace and prosperity for the people of Jammu and Kashmir and hoped that the state will scale to new heights of development.

In a message on the eve of demitting his office, General Sinha said: ''On the eve of my departure from this state with which I have been closely associated for over six decades, I send my best wishes to each individual in the three regions of the state.'' ''I earnestly pray for their happiness and prosperity. I also pray for peace and all round development of the state.'' The message adds, ''I depart with a feeling of satisfaction that I did my best for the people of the state in war and peace, as also during natural disasters. If I failed to achieve what I strived for, it was not due to any lack of effort on my part.

''I am grateful to the numerous people of the state, particularly during the last weeks who have been generously expressing regard andv affection for me.

''I am happy that my successor is an outstanding civil servant with wide and rich experience. I have had the privilege of knowing him and I have high regard for him. With him as the head of the state and our dynamic Chief Minister as head of the government passionately devoted to development, I see a great future for our state. God bless you all'', the message concludes.
