"PPP's indifference to Nawaz's disqualification may damage coalition"
Lahore, June 24 : A PML-N parliamentarian has said that the PPP's 'indifferent attitude' towards his party leader Nawaz Sharif's disqualification from contesting the June 26 by-poll "could damage the PPP and PML-N coalition".
Talking to reporters outside the Punjab Assembly, PML-N's National Assembly member Khawaja Saad Rafiq said that the Lahore High Court's decision to disqualify Nawaz was "a black chapter in Pakistan's political history and a conspiracy against democratic struggle".
He said though the PML-N would not appeal in the Supreme Court over the decision.
"No judge can disqualify a national politician," the Daily Times quoted him as saying.
Following the high court's decision, the PML-N has planned province-wide protests today, besides staging a demonstration outside the Punjab Assembly.
