Pondy CM takes lead in nabbing 'hit-and-run' lorry driver
Puducherry, June 24(UNI) Chief Minister N Rangasamy's timely intervention today helped catch the driver of a lorry involved in an hit-and-run case here today.
According to police, Mr Rangasamy was proceeding to the Legislative Assembly in his car when he saw a lorry hitting a moped and speeding away.
The Chief Minister immediately asked the driver to stop the car and directed the police personnel in his escort vehicle to chase and catch the lorry driver.
The driver and cleaner of the lorry were arrested and handed over to the Traffic Police. The injured moped rider was admitted to the JIPMER Hospital.
