NF Railway diverts trains following heavy rain
Guwahati, Jun 24 (UNI) The Northeast Frontier (NF) Railway has diverted and cancelled several trains passing between Alipurduar Junction-Siliguri town section of the Alipurduar division following incessant rainfall.
Torrential rains rendered railway bridge no 52 between Sevok and Bagrakot station of the division unsafe since last night, resulting in diversion or cancellation of trains, a NF Railway release informed.
Consequently, 5761 UP Ranchi-Alipurduar Jn Express, both 3248 Up and 3247 Down Capital Express, 4084 Up Mahananda Express and 2501 Down Sampark Kranti Express will run via diverted routes, through Samuktala-New Coochbehar-Raninagar-Jalpaiguri-New Jalpaiguri.
Besides, 5741 Up New Jalpaiguri-Alipurduar Intercity Express and 626 Down Alipurduar-New Jalpaiguri Passenger have been cancelled today.
Meanwhile, due to four hours traffic block for track maintenance work on up line between Panjipara and Gaisal stations on New Jalpaiguri-Kishanganj section of Katihar Division from 1150 hours to 1550 hours on every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday up to July seven, several trains will be regulated on those days, the release added.
The trains to be affected are 5652 Up Jammu Tawi-Guwahati Lohit Express, arriving at Katihar on every Friday, will be regulated at Katihar or Kishanganj. Again, 611 Up Malda Town-New Jalpaiguri Passengers will be regulated between Barsoi and Kishanganj.
