Light rains bring coolness in Delhi
New Delhi, Jun 24 (UNI) After a lull of three days, light rain and thundershowers today hit Delhi, bringing down the mercury and providing relief from sultry weather.
At around 0700 hrs, the national capital was suddenly hit by a short burst of heavy shower, accompanied by a strong thunderstorm.
Though just 1.2 mm rain was recorded till 0830 hrs the shower and strong westerly winds brought tremendous coolness to the city.
The minimum temperature was recorded three degrees below normal at 26.8 degrees. The coolness in the air is likely to persist for another day or two with weathermen forcasting more rain and thundershowers in next 24 hrs.
The Met office has forecast a partly cloudy sky in Delhi in the next 24 hrs with rain and thundershowers in few areas.
