Lectra announces India Operations

Bangalore, Jun 24(UNI) Lectra, an integrated technology solutions provider dedicated to soft goods industries, has announced opening of its subsidiary in India.

Speaking at a press conference here today, Lectra Asia-Pacific President Robert Agnes announced the launch of the Indian subsidiary here which would focus on developing new sales opportunities and strengthen proximity with the company's clients in the region.

He said Lectra looked forward to work with Indian companies in the apparel, footwear and fashion accessories industries as well as in the automotive and industrial fabrics sector.

From an industrial point of view, automotive and apparel sector were well-developed as it emerged as the second largest automotive market and was also one of the top five textile and clothing exporters worldwide.

Stating that Lectra has been present in India for over one decade Mr Agnes through its partner Magnum Solutions Pvt Ltd and clearly established its leadership position among its installed client base particularly in the garment, wind energy and automotive markets.

Lectra enjoyed a leadership position across all markets with over 70 per cent share of the market for car seats and interiors, he said.

Lectra India would concentrate on three main objectives, build and manage account relationships in the apparel,footwear and fashion accessories markets, develop and build on its presence in the automotive and industrial fabrics markets and finally position itself as a key solutions provider for the Indian furniture market.

Replying to questions Mr Agnes said initially the Lectra subsidiary will start with 20 headcount with a provision to leverage it to 100 in the days to come.

Lectra also has plans to set up its dedicated call centre in India in the next three years, he added.
