Kerala planning to reduce number of Trade Unions: Gurudasan
Thiruvananthapuram, Jun 24: The Kerala Government is planning to regulate the number of Trade Unions in industrial and work places in the state, Labour Minister P K Gurudasan informed the State Assembly today.
The Kerala Recognition of Trade Union Bill (2008), aimed at creating a peaceful atmosphere in work place was in the final stage, he said while replying to questions by T P Kunjunni (CP-M) and others.
The Bill had already been submitted to the Centre for its clearance and approval, he added.
Only through referendum the number of trade unions in the state could be reduced, Mr Gurudasan said adding the recognised trade unions could solve employment disputes and achieve their demands through bilateral discussions.
