Hand over murder cases to CBI: PMC
Puducherry, Jun 24: The Puducherry Munnetra Congress (PMC) today urged the administration to handover the murder cases which the local police could not solve it to the Central Bureau of Investigation.
Addressing a press conference here, party spokesperson and MLA K Lakshminarayanan said in the last two years 79 murder cases, most of them for gains, were registered.
However, all the cases were in the First Information Report (FIR) stage and no progress had been made in the investigation, he said and charged the government with protecting the culprits.
The government should change its attitude failing which, the PMC would organise agitations under the leadership of party president P Kannan, he cautioned.
