Kolkata, Jun 24 (UNI) Immigration authorities of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International (NSCBI) airport today detained a person for trying to travel to Bangkok with a tampered passport.
Officials said two pages of Maclom Macleod's passport were apparently torn off the booklet.
Initially, he told the officials that his child had torn the pages, but on questioning, he admitted that he himself had taken out the pages.
Macleod (47), a resident of Shillong, told officials that the missing pages contained details of his application for a visa to Canada.
Since his visa application was rejected, he thought the same would create problem, if it was found.
