Temple to be renovated in TN

Tiruchirapalli, Jun 23: Renovation and paiting work costing Rs one lakh would be taken up shortly at the Sri Subramaniyaswamy Temple at Thinniyam Village, near here, according to Temple Executive Officer Sampathkumar.

Speaking at the concluding day of the 65-day "Kodi Archana" at the temple last night, he said the temple needed urgent renovation.

The "Kodi Archana" Committee had agreed to bear the entire expenditure for the proposed renovation.

Committee Coordinator Subramaniya Vaidhyanathan said the "Kodi Archana" commenced on April 20 this year in which devotees from India and abroad participated.

A sum of Rs about 15 lakh was spent on the ceremony with the entire amount being met from contributions by devotees.
