Shetkari Sena activists stage demonstrations at APMC

Nashik, Jun 23 (UNI) The activists of Shetkari Sanghatana today staged a demonstration at the district Agricultural Produce Market Committe (APMC) here in support of their demands.

The agitators, led by district chief Rajabhau Sanap, shoted slogans and tried unsuccessfully to burn an effigy of the Democratic Front government.

The protestors were demanding unconditional loan waiver for farmers, while opposing the loan waiver scheme announced by the government that entails terms and conditions.

The agitators were of the opinion that the problems faced by farmers, such as indebetedness, could be taken care of, if there is regular supply of fertilisers and electricity as well as easy availability of loans.
