Rupee opens low at 42.97/98 per USD

Mumbai, Jun 23: Rupee on Monday, June 23 inched at 42.97/98 per US Dollar, weakened by four paise from the previous close of 42.93/94 per Dollar on negative cues in Asian market reflected in local stock market.

The partially convertible Indian currency tumbled against greenback as the stock market fell to its lowest in 10 months, heightening concerns of more fund outflows on inflation concern, but dealers said RBI was seen keeping the unit off from breaching 43 against US unit.
