No need for power cuts for one decade: Raman

Pathalgaon, Chhattisgarh, June 23 (UNI) Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh has said power cut would not be required in the state in the next decade as it has achieved self-sufficiency in terms of power production.

''No village or colony will remain devoid of power in the next three years,'' said Dr Singh, while addressing a public meeting here last night as a part of his 'Vikas Yatra'.

Pointing out that development was not just constructing roads and bridges, he said the government has provided employment to poor and made them self-reliant.

He inaugurated and laid foundation of development works worth Rs 55 crore here on the occasion. He added that a bonus of Rs 150 crore was being distributed in the state this year.
