New sugar mill in TN Dist in 2009
Perambalur, Tamil Nadu, Jun 23: The Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Group of Educational Institutions will be opening a new sugar mill in this district by November next year.
Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Sugars Chairman and Managing Director A Srinivasan told newsmen here yeterday the unit, to be located on a sprawling area of 150 acre, will have a daily crushing capacity of 3,500 tonne.
The mill, to come up in Udumbiyam in Veppanthattai Taluk, will have a co-generation plant of 23 MW capacity.
The venture would provide direct employment for 750 persons and indirect employment for 3,000.
It would ensure cultivation of high-yielding variety of sugarcane to benefit farmers in and around Perambalur.
