MP cops dragging feet over probe against Lokayukta
Bhopal, June 23 (UNI) Even four days after a local court directed a probe into a complaint of alleged irregularities in purchase of a flat in a posh local colony, the Koh-i-Fiza Police Station's officers are yet to initiate an investigation against Lokauykta Justice Ripusudan Dayal.
Police claim that legal experts are being consulted vis-a-vis the order.
Meanwhile, local residents Alok Singhai and Narendra Bhavsar -- who lodged the complaint against Justice Dayal in Chief Judicial Magistrate D K Singh's court, under Section 156(3) of the Criminal Procedure Code -- today submitted to Governor Balram Jakhar a memorandum containing details of the alleged irregularities.
The memo urged that Justice Dayal be freed of his Lokayukta responsibilities during the probe's duration. Justice Dayal was unavailable for comment. The next date of hearing is August 20.
